, the AIS Decal requirement changed for non-resident registered watercraft users on Lake Tahoe, Topaz Lake, Lake Mead, Lake Mohave and the lower Colorado River. Through the passage of Assembly Bill 128 the following changes have occurred:
Arizona registered watercraft
are exempt from the purchase of Nevada’s AIS Decal for the interstate waters of Lake Mead, Lake Mohave and the lower Colorado River. All other waters of the State of Nevada require an AIS Decal for Arizona registered watercraft.
California registered watercraft
are exempt from the purchase of Nevada’s AIS decal for the interstate waters of Lake Tahoe and Topaz Lake. All other waters of the State of Nevada require an AIS Decal for California registered watercraft.
These exemptions apply only to
do not apply to non-registered vessels such as canoes, kayaks, and other paddle craft vessels that are capable of retaining water.
All watercraft capable of retaining water are required to display an AIS Decal including motorized and non-motorized watercraft.
Laws regarding child support mandate that any person who is required by federal law to have a social security number must provide the number to obtain a business, occupational or recreational license. This includes certificate of numbers and validation decals for boats. Federal Law – Public Law 104 – 193; Nevada Statute – NRS 488.078
